[Avionics Today 03-17-2016] The HondaJet has received type certification from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Mexico, the Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC). The HondaJet received U.S. FAA type certification on Dec. 8, 2015, and the company began deliveries on Dec. 23, 2015.
“Receiving aircraft validation in Mexico is an important milestone for Honda Aircraft Company, paving the way for the start of HondaJet deliveries in Mexico,” said Honda Aircraft Company President and CEO Michimasa Fujino. “We will begin with the first delivery in a few weeks.”
The HondaJet incorporates advanced technological innovations that were developed from long-term research activities, including the patented Over-The-Wing Engine Mount (OTWEM) configuration, natural laminar flow wing and nose and composite fuselage.
Additionally, Honda Aircraft has partnered with Mexican executive aviation company, Aerolineas Ejecutivas in order to provide sales, service and support for customers in Mexico.
