[Avionics Today 04-12-2016] Aspen Avionics has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) to interface its Evolution Primary Function Displays (PFD) and Multi-Function Displays (MFD) with Garmin’s GDL 88 dual-band Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) datalink transceiver. Additionally, the company plans to make the interface to Aspen displays from the Garmin GTX 345 ADS-B datalink transponder available by the end of 2016.
“With ADS-B compliance rapidly approaching, aircraft owners are looking for options that provide value-added weather and advanced traffic information at a price that is affordable and that will work with multiple display options,” said Mark Ferrari, vice president of sales and customer support at Aspen Avionics. “This interface clearly addresses those needs.”
