[Avionics Today 06-02-2016] The United Kingdom’s Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) NATS, has signed a partnership agreement to collaborate with the University of the West of Scotland (UWS). The University-Industry Partnership Agreement aims to bring collaboration across a range of projects embracing joint research and knowledge transfer activity, as well as collaborative education, placements and training programs.

As part of the agreement, students will be offered work placements at NATS Prestwick Air Traffic Control (ATC) center, which controls air traffic over Scotland, Northern England, Northern Ireland, the North Sea, and the eastern half of the North Atlantic. The students will benefit from an opportunity to work on research and development projects that will make a real contribution to air navigation operations of the future.
