[Avionics Today 07-18-2016] A Japan Airlines Boeing 777-200s retrofitted with the Thales Avant In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) system has achieved Entry Into Service (EIS). The fleet of 11 aircraft represents the first Avant retrofit for Thales.
Avant offers an Android-based IFE solution with a customizable passenger experience. The fleet retrofit is part of Japan Airlines’ Magic 6 entertainment system, which includes Broadcast Audio, Audio-and-Video-on-Demand (AVOD), a 3-D map application, and games.
