[Avionics Magazine 12-27-2016] Military digital interoperability solutions provider Stauder Technologies has announced a new contract to provide avionics upgrades to the Royal Danish Air Force fleet of F-16 fighter jets. Under the contract, Stauder will replace the F-16 existing IDM 302 avionics boxes with its HydeDM VMF modems.

According to Stauder, the new modems immediately make the RDAF’s F-16s compatible with all North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) ground kits. Stauder describes the upgrade as a “plug and play” installation, with no major aircraft modification required.

Denmark is looking to use the upgrade to make its F-16s operational for its Digital Aided Close Air Support mission, according to Stauder.
