Satcom Direct plans to celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, the company said, starting this week at the Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (ABACE) in Shanghai, China. While there, the company said it plans to launch its second certified training course, aeroCNCT, to train crewmembers on cabin connectivity. This, Satcom Direct said, is the “industry’s first crewmember connectivity certification.”
Leading up to the celebration was a number of milestones, all achieved in 2016. The company launched SD Pro last May and acquired three companies throughout the year, including Comsat Inc., AircraftLogs.com and TrueNorth Avionics. At its start, Satcom Direct had six employees and one product. Now, it says it employs almost 400 people worldwide, runs 16 offices and has a wide range of products.
“Asia was one of our first international offices; the market has supported us, and grown with us, so we are delighted to begin our 20th anniversary celebrations at the Shanghai event,” said Nathan Andrews, regional director of Asia Pacific. “As our product range diversifies, we are well placed to offer our clients an even greater range of products to improve and enhance their fight experience.”
