Authorized Honeywell dealer Pentastar Aviation has received an approved model list supplemental type certificate (STC) for the DU-875 flight deck display upgrade on Global Express airframes. Pentastar said the STC eliminates the need for cockpit modifications and doesn’t require wiring changes or additional pilot training.
“The DU-875 is a low-risk upgrade allowing for minimal aircraft downtime, has higher display reliability and resolves obsolescence issues,” said Jesse Beard, Pentastar Aviation’s avionics and engineering manager. “There is also reduced cost of ownership and a growth path to future technologies.”
Honeywell plans to discontinue cathode ray tube DU-870 flight deck display product support and repair in the near future, Pentastar said. The upgraded solution can be installed individually or as a complete suite. Honeywell is offering a $40,000 trade-in incentive per display replacement.
