United Technologies Corp. might be thinking about acquiring Rockwell Collins, according to a report from Bloomberg citing “people familiar with the matter.”
According to the report, the deal is merely being deliberated, and there is no guarantee of an acquisition. Bloomberg said that Rockwell Collins has a market value of $19.3 billion, which would make the deal one of the largest in aerospace.
Bloomberg said that representatives from both parties declined to comment last week.
In April, Rockwell Collins reported a successful second quarter of 2017. The company saw a 2% increase in reported sales and also adjusted its full-year financial guidance following an acquisition of its own. B/E Aerospace became Rockwell Collins’ Interior Systems business and was then projected to bring in $1.4 billion in sales.
