Airbus delivered 718 aircraft to 85 customers in 2017, setting a new mark for the company for the 15th year in a row.

Beyond the deliveries, Airbus reported 1,109 total net orders from 44 separate customers, bringing its total backlog at the conclusion of 2017 to an industry high at 7,265 aircraft valued at more than $1 trillion.

On the back of its growth, Airbus said that it is expanding its presence in both China and the Americas.

According to Airbus President of Commercial Aircraft and Chief Operating Officer Fabrice Brégier, production rates will increase on several aircraft families. The A320, for example, will increase to 60 aircraft per month by mid-2019.

There will also be an increase in production of the A350 XWB to 10 per month by the end of 2018.
