The U.S. Air Force has awarded Harris Corporation a contract to provide support and updates for its electronic warfare systems on board the international version of the F-16.
F-16s from eight countries use a Harris AN/ALQ-211 self-protection system to shield them from electronic threats and prevent missile lock. Harris’ president of electronic systems, Ed Zoiss, pointed to the system’s portability and flexibility as qualities that serve F16 users well. This contract will ensure that Harris is providing software updates and engineering support for the systems as threats evolve.
