Kuwait Airways is extending its partnership with SITAOnAir to bring online next-generation in-flight connectivity (IFC) applications for its passengers. SITAOnAir will deploy its Internet OnAir portal and Mobile OnAir services, powered by Inmarsat’s GX Aviation network, across the airline’s new A320 and A321 Neo aircraft fleet.
InternetOnAir enables passengers to stream videos, surf the internet, consume digital content, shop and more. The latest version also includes an updated website design with improved navigation and a built-in ad server tool that harmonizes various advertising formats.
According to SITAOnAir, Internet OnAir can also be integrated into airlines’ existing Customer Relationship Management systems, linking the service to a vast source of passenger profile data. This allows airlines to promote tailored Internet OnAir price plans for specific passengers, depending on where they’re seated, or offer online content based on passenger budget, search histories, or shopping preferences.
Mobile OnAir, meanwhile, allows passengers to enjoy a mobile connectivity experience similar to their own homes, SITAOnAir stated. According to the company, more than 20 million passengers accessed the service for voice, SMS and data transmissions in 2017.
Kuwait Airways’ connectivity-activated A320 and A321 Neo fleet will operate routes throughout the Middle East, India, Europe and Africa.
